To my understanding, there are no restrictions to the profiles you can rent to as it is considered semi privatized property.

Any EC that has crossed the 5yr MOP is similar to private condos for rental purposes. So, you can house anyone there subject to a maximum of 6 unrelated people. Please contact me via WhatApp if you have any other queries.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

There are no restrictions when it comes to rental. However to buy a 5 years old EC, you will need to be either a Singaporean or a SPR to be eligible. ECs are value for money because their PSF price are typically cheaper as compared to a private condo.

Hi,

1) A resale EC that had passed the MOP does not have any restriction to rent out.
2) It can be rented out to anyone including foreigners, PR, or locals.
3) You don't have to seek any authority for permission to rent it out.
4) You only need to ensure the tenant pays the tenancy agreement stamp duty to protect your interest.

You wont have any restriction in renting to any residency status.

If you become an owner, you will able to sell to SC or SPR before its privatisation from 11th year onwards.

Don't be mistaken, you can purchase and rent out like a normal private residential property, however, only Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to buy such ECs that have just met their MOP. For foreigners who wish to purchase this project, they will need to wait out for another 5 years for the project to be fully privatised.
