This is my first time renting a HDB unit and I do not have an agent to represent me. I paid the 1mth rental deposit, will only move in end Jun. I went to have another viewing at the unit after my confirmation. There are quite a number of defects in the house. eg,. rusty door knobs, missing door handles. Their agent said they will have it fixed. May I know if the owners are required to get the whole place cleaned up before handing over to us? Will there be a inventory list? What if the appliances or fan stopped working during our rental period? The house is not that well maintained by the previous tenants. So my main concern is if their furnitures and appliances starts to break down, I do not want them to start claiming us.
