This is an question on ABSD. I own a HDB under both my wife and my name. We intend to sell the HDB and each procure a private property. Will we be incurring ABSD for 2 properties?

Afternoon Thomas, If both of you are SC, you will not incur any ABSD on the purchase of private property. However, if either of you are SPR, ABSD of 5% is payable. Dear Thomas, Subjected to your citizenship, you will also be required to sell your existing HDB first before moving ahead with the purchase as the arrangement you are looking at will not allow you to claim the ABSD remission. Dear Thomas, The question is whether you have completed the sale of your HDB prior to you and your wife each purchasing a private property. If you have completed the sale of your HDB. When each of you purchase a private property, it is a 1st property ABSD calculation. However, if you have yet to complete the sale of your HDB then both of you upon purchase of your private property is subject to 2nd property ABSD calculation.
