Hi, there are several reasons to it. For some tenant and for the same amount of rental between HDB and condo, they will gladly go for HDB as there will be one more added room which mean the unit will be more spacious and they be living more comfortably.

Simply because for the same price, you can get a HDB at a better location closer to MRT.

That's the obvious answer from one who walks the ground.

Size of apartment, conditions of apartment and location of the apartment are critical considerations of a tenant when they put in an offer to rent a unit.

There are trade-offs tenants willing to make for the above. A family with active child is likely going for bigger space a HDB can offer instead of a smaller unit in a condo where the child has less space to move around.
