Hi Mr. Ajay,

For either SC or PR, only if you have met your MOP for your HDB, then you are eligible to purchase a 2nd property.

For PR purchasing 2nd private property:
He has to sell the HDB within 6 months of key collection to private property. Eventually, you can only have 1 private property at the end of the process.

The tax rate will be 3+10 = 13% on the 2nd private property when your purchase. Thus it will be more advantageous if you sell HDB first, rent for the interim, and purchase your private property. That way, your tax rate is 3+5 = 8% instead.

If you are a citizen, your tax rate will be 3+7= 10% for the 2nd property. But you can choose to keep both your HDB and your private property.

If after you have bought private condo as a SC, and wish to purchase resale HDB again, you have to sell your private condo within 6 months of key collection to resale HDB. Hope the above clarifies.

Afternoon Ajay,

As SPR, you are required to sell off your HDB unit within 6 months from key collection to your private property. You will also be liable for 5% to 10% ABSD, depending on when you secure the OTP for the sales of your HDB unit.
