Dear sir/madam,
Tenancy agreements can be vastly different therefore it is impossible for us to advise on your situation. The generic consideration is that in the absence of a premature termination clause and that since diplomatic clause becomes irrelevant in your situation, Tenant is liable to pay rental until the end of the tenancy agreement term, meaning until December 2021. In such circumstances, I will usually advise Tenant to speak to the Landlord to see if Landlord is open for Tenant to terminate the lease prematurely without any penalties or to look for a replacement tenant to takeover the balance lease term at Tenant's own costs.
The amend or nullify a clause within a Tenancy Agreement, both Landlord and Tenant has to agree before it can take place, that why this is a contractual agreement.
