Dear sir,

My very personal opinion is that prices is unlikely to recover within the next 2 years but it is also unlikely to drop by much, therefore it is good to consider entering the market if prices are within your affordability. My advise to my clients who are looking to purchase is always to buy low when we know the prices are low, but we will never know when price will be the lowest and without knowing it, the U turn upwards could be so fast that you may end up purchasing during the good times.

Hi Mr Kong,

Private home prices have stabilised judging from the data released by URA in the past few quarters. The cooling measures by the government such as Additional Buyer / Seller Stamp Duty and Total Debt Servicing Ratio have worked and are likely to stay in the near future according to the MAS.

Most of the Singaporean are home owners and our government will not want a housing bubble to form. A local property is a good investment as long as one do not over-leverage.

Do feel free to contact me so that I can share with you more on the broad market outlook.
