As mentioned by Kevin, if you have navigated this rental deal on your own, perhaps you may like to purchase a copy of ownership document from www.inlis.gov.sg for verification.
Otherwise, you may wish to request the owner to produce a copy of the title deed or ownership documents to proof the ownership.
