Hi Mr. Rao,

Both of you need to have each held SPR status for 3 years before you are eligible to purchase resale hdb. Once purchased, you cannot sell the unit until the 5 year MOP is met. PR households also cannot sublet the unit. Leaving it vacant is of course a personal choice since you are still paying the mortgage. Evening,

As both of you are SPR, you must fulfill 3 years holding of the SPR status before you are eligible to purchase resale HDB unit. Upon key collection, MOP have to be fulfilled. This would mean that someone need to be staying in the unit before you are eligible to sell again. Should you opt to keep it vacant, you will still be required to fulfill the 5 years MOP.

Hi Mr Rao,

You may purchase a HDB flat if both of you are SPR for 3 years.

SPR household cannot sub-let the whole flat.

I have served SPR/SPR buyers and am now selling a SPR/SPR flat who have been located overseas.

You are eligible to purchase a resale HDB with your SPR spouse under public scheme as long as both of you are SPRs for at least 3 years.

You can proceed ahead and purchase a resale HDB if you are eligible and leave it vacant in the midst of your absence in Singapore as SPR household are not eligible to sublet their unit.
