My wife is the only child. Her dad in the 50s is planning to buy a condo and put her name as a NOK. The issue is we have bought a HDB resale 2 years ago and have not satisfied the MOP. Will there be a problem? Any ways to appeal regarding this?

Hi Karu, as you have not yet fulfilled your MOP for your HDB, you are not allowed to purchase a private property until it is fulfilled - which will be in 3 years time.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
perhaps you can ask your father-in-law to contact me, so that I can advise him personally instead.

Afternoon,

Since your HDB unit have not fulfilled MOP, your father-in-law cannot add your spouse's name as co-owner. But he can definitely set a WILL to cover up the possible worry which your father-in-law might have.
