Unfortunately you can't. If you intend to buy a resale HDB, you need to dispose your private property. You can't own both at the same time.

HDB unit are not meant for investment. This is why all buyers for HDB unit are required to sell their private property before they are eligible for the purchase.

Hi,

Unfortunately no, you have to sell away your private property within 6 months after key collection to resale hdb. Alternatively you may want to consider a 2nd private residential property. Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi Philip,

Under the current HDB ruling, if you were to purchase a HDB flat, you will have to dispose off your private property within a 6 months period.

If you are looking at investing in properties to generate a steady stream of income, may I suggest that you look into commercial properties instead. The yields are usually higher as compared to residential properties.
