My tenant moved out after 2 years, without informing us that she changed the lock to the main door and the letterbox. During the course of her tenancy, she has asked us to surrender all our keys and the car park access (although she doesn't drive). We explained that we cannot give her all the keys because we have the right to access the apartment in times of emergency as stipulated in the tenancy agreement. She went ahead to change the lock for both main door and letterbox keys, citing reason of 'fair wear and tear' and no need to inform us because of that. We found out she changed the locks after the bank valuer could not access the unit using our old keys. We have already refunded the full security deposit. Does anyone know what's the law regarding this? Thanks!
