Hmm. Are we sure this is an actual law? Or just a generally accepted practice nobody bothered to question? Where does PDPA fall into this? NRIC/FIN/Passport is considered to be confidential information. Companies get penalized if there is ever a breach or leak of such information. Yet we will freely give this information to a landlord where there is no review/control over who/where he may share this with? Why do we even bother masking NRIC/FIN in govt and commercial correspondences then? I believe the landlord should only be entitled to the QR code of the FIN/NRIC. That is enough to verify if this is valid with the MOM and ICA without revealing the actual ID numbers. Please clarify this. Thank you
