Afternoon, As you have private property, upon inheriting the HDB unit, you will need to decide which one you intend to keep. If you prefer to stay in HDB unit, you will have to sell away your private condo within 6 months from key collection. But if you choose to stay in your condo, you will have to sell away the HDB unit. Do feel free to contact me for further discussion. Regards Mike Lim 96929209  m52i@yahoo.com ERA Read More

Dear Sir/Mdm, I'm so sorry to hear he lose of your loved ones. For your question, if you have inherited the HDB flat and you already owned a private property, then you will have to choose which one to keep as there will be a 5 year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) to fulfill upon inheriting the HDB flat and during this MOP, we are not allowed to hold on to a condo. Maybe I can suggest that we can meet up for a non obligatory discussion and we can see how we can proceed from there. I can also see how I can advise you further as well. What is going through my mind will also be the location and flat type of your inherited HDB flat vs your current condo. This will also be a factor to consider as well. I have served quite a number of clients and many of them are now my friends. Some of them have also left testimonials for me and you may read them on my website, www.jeffreyheng.com. I believe I will be able to give you some proper advice. Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thanks. Good evening, If you decide to hold on to your private property, you have to sell off the HDB. You can't hold on to both. And if you decide to hold on to HDB, you have to sell off your private property and observe 5 years MOP before you can purchase a private property. Hope it helps! Sorry for your loss.
