Afternoon, As you have private property, upon inheriting the HDB unit, you will need to decide which one you intend to keep. If you prefer to stay in HDB unit, you will have to sell away your private condo within 6 months from key collection. But if you choose to stay in your condo, you will have to sell away the HDB unit. For your question, if you have inherited the HDB flat and you already owned a private property, then you will have to choose which one to keep as there will be a 5 year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) to fulfill upon inheriting the HDB flat and during this MOP, we are not allowed to hold on to a condo. What is going through my mind will also be the location and flat type of your inherited HDB flat vs your current condo. This will also be a factor to consider as well. Good evening, If you decide to hold on to your private property, you have to sell off the HDB. You can't hold on to both.
