My landlord converted HDB unit into 2 separate studio. There is only 1 main gate/door (shared between the 2 tenants) although it was not clear in the advertisement, and I have paid for a private studio price.

Is this concept even legal under HDB (regards to the renovation, fire safety etc?) should i file a complain?

We have no idea about how the unit has been converted into 2 separate studio units to advise you further if this is legal or if you should file a complain. I am unsure if I am right but it feels that you are unhappy now because you feel that you have committed to an overpriced unit and is looking for ways to exit the rental so you are looking to complain?
