My landlady broke a 2 year lease in between.Although she has returned my one month security deposit, she has retained other month deposit. May I know if she is entitled to deduct anything from my deposit specially when she has not compensated for rent?

Hi,

Based on your above situation, she cannot forfeit your deposit paid.

In fact, if there is no valid and strong reasons for her termination, you can claim against her your "losses" due to her breach of contract.
