My husband is the only one working, whereas i am a full time housewife. He will be 50 this year. We currently own a 3rm resale flat in 3700xx. Been here for about 10+yrs. There are still some HDB loans to be paid off.

Is it possible for us to sell off this flat and downgrade? Currently we are paying $4xx cash monthly to HDB (husband still have cpf contributions monthly). We do not want to be burdened by cash payments.

What can we do for financial freedom / lesser payments? I have been wrecking my brains because my husband plans to retire by 55yrs old. Any advice that doesn't burden my husband is welcome. Thank you so much.

Since you are already staying in a 3 room flat, the only option is to downgrade to a 2 room flat. However, as your loan is not paid up yet, we will need to calculate whether it is worthwhile to downgrade since there will be transactional costs when downgrading and you will also need to set aside some budget for the renovation of the new place.
