My husband is pr and I am Singaporean buying our 2nd condo,how much additional absd must he pay? Can i avoid it by buying the 2nd property under my name? Also we plan to sell the 1st one when the 2nd top. Will I be able to add his name as owner? Thks

Afternoon Weiling,

As your spouse is PR, both of you will be liable for 3% ABSD upon the purchase of your second property. You are right that you will not be required to pay the ABSD if you purchase the second property under your name only. To sell your first unit upon TOP of your second unit will have to be based on the completion ate of your first unit. This is to avoid SSD. And to add your spouse's name into your second property upon sales of your first property, you are liable to pay stamp and legal.
