My current EC (has no resale levy) and bought under my name only, my spouse is an essential occupier (not owner).

Upon meeting MOP, if my spouse invest in 2nd property under her name, do I need to withdraw her as an essential occupier before she could purchase a private property?

Will there be any ABSD? I assume it is not applicable since my spouse does not own any property to her name, am I right?

Can she start looking around and pay a deposit to book a property first? for example, book a property 1 year before MOP and complete the sale/loan transaction upon meeting the MOP date?

Hi,

You have to wait until 5 year MOP is fulfilled before you or your spouse can purchase another residential property. My legal partners are able to assist with the necessary procedures on doing so.

do take note that even though your wife is just an essential occupier, she has to fulfill the 5 years MOP along with you first before she can purchase a private property (ink on the option to purchase).

She wont be subject to ABSD as this will be her first property purchase.

ABSD is NOT applicable to your wife as this will be considered her first property.

However, as she is an essential occupier, she will need to fufil the 5 years MOP first before she can purchase another residential property, ie ink the otp of the property.
