There is no standard in the establishment of minor repair clause, but we need to bear in mind that landlord may want to establish a higher minor repair clause amount, but it is still up to the tenant to accept the clause, therefore the amount set should be an amount that both landlord and tenant can accept. For example if the property in question is an ageing property say over 30 years old and no recent major renovations were done, by putting up a minor repair clause that is say $500, most tenants will be wary over the amount.
