Let's say I own a HDB, have lived in the house for 10 years. Initially bought for $155,000, now loan left with HDB is $77,000 have been paying cash for the past 5 years. Recent transacted home sale in my area is around $500,000 to $600,000. How much in CASH could I possibly get if I sell my home right now and buy another home, a BTO for $200,000? A simple brief breakdown will be most helpful. Thank You.

Morning Raja, Without knowing how much CPF you have utilized, along with the interest incurred, and the amount of loan you will be using for your next purchase, it's hard to give you any solid figures to justify my statement. Hi Raja, Seek your information in the CPF that has been utilised to purchase the current flat to compute the sales proceeds. Also if you have utilised any for.m of housing grants for your existing place to determine if you need to pay any resale levy if your intentions is to purchase a BTO. Thereafter, we will then be able to determine if you have any cash on hand after the purchase of BTO. Please take note that for BTO purchases, you will likely need to wait for a couple of years before the unit is ready for moving in. You may need to factor in 2 to 3 years of rental perhaps in between the sale and purchase.
