Just committed to an HDB (fully paid) and haven't started 5 years MOP. With a million dollars cash in the bank and zero debt, I am not sure how I should best invest the funds for a low risk capital protected gain. What would you do in my shoes? All ideas welcomed. Thanks

Hi,

If you ask me, all investments carries some form of risk.

A general saying, the higher the risk, the higher the potential investment returns. Likewise, an investment with low/minimal risk, usually generate you the lowest returns.

If you want a low risk investment where your capital is very much protected, you can go for Singapore Government Bonds.

If you can take higher risk, you can consider other forms of investments, like investing in properties (yes you still can do so even without meeting your MOP) or buying equities.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

you referring to commercial and industrial properties?
Hey there,
Congrats on fully paid your HDB. You have a great asset instrument on hand. A typical HDB can generate a good 5-8% rental yields.

As you mentioned, you are looking for a low risk capital protected gain.

Before I can advise you on any investment, I do need to understand your risk appetite as low risk is really subjective.

What kind of ROI you are looking at? And Low risk as compared to Bonds, Stocks, or even real estate?

Off hand, as you also mentioned the MOP period is not met, you can only invest in commercial properties such as offices, retails, industrial units.

Each of them have different pro/cons such as market segmentation, demand/supply as well as entry points.

There are so much factors to consider in real estate investments. We need to discuss further before I can provide a low risk capital projected solution for you.

Hope the above address to your concern, but if there are more queries, please feel free to call/WhatsApp me at 9366 1846  , or email: shawnkhooch@gmail.com if more information is needed.

I’m obliged to assist your needs.

-- HDB Sengkang 4rm Landlord Ms Lim--

We approach Shawn to rent out our unit because he is always present in my area, through flyers and road show. He secured our tenant with my expected rental within 2 weeks of marketing and handle all the necessary arrangements. It was a hassle-free experiment for us. Currently, we are getting him to renew our tenancy with the existing tenant.

We are referred to Shawn by our friend who bought a resale HDB through his services.

At that time, we are pondering whether to buy a resale or BTO. Shawn professionally explained the pros/cons on all possible options. We finally decided to buy a EC after he gone through the financial calculations with us.

We have since moved into our EC and very happy with our new home. Good Job, Shawn

Dear Sir/Mdm,

Bought HDB. - Can't buy any residential property in SG until MOP. Your HDB bought resales or new? If resales, under your name?

There are quite a number of possibilities, it depends on what you want. A stable and lower monthly returns or more risker and higher return over time.

Other options
1. Stocks and Shares
2. Commercial Property in SG.
3. Fund in SG.
4. Etc.

Please give me a buzz at 96722265  to discuss more over coffee.

Hi

As im not into stocks. So unable to advise.

If i am in your position, as residential is out of the picture , i will probably invest in only 2 category. For property investment.

1. Overseas property from trusted developers
2. Industrail/commercial units

However research and understanding what you are putting the money into is advised.
