Ive taken the master room on rent in a condo. My contract (which is not stamped) is with the main tenant and not the LL/Agent. A few days after moving we found bed bugs in the room. I notified the main tenant, but apart from sympathy she did not offer any action. So we decided not to confront and I did a DIY cleaning over several weeks to get rid of them. We also got rid of the bed springs after she approved the same. They were infested.
2 weeks ago she asks us to get a professional treatment done as well as replace the bed spring. She suggests it was our fault and that we need to resolve it. The contract says nothing of pest control and she is quoting some clause of damaged furniture as justification. And if we dont she will deduct it from my deposit.
Now again to avoid any confrontation I obliged though I dont think Im in the wrong. Now Im worried that I will not get my entire deposit back. I have 4 months in Singapore after which I leave this place. What are my options?
