Hi Kerstin,

Sorry to hear about the situation, you may wish to look into the Tenancy Agreement if there is any clause available to indicate that the Landlord is required to compensate under such circumstances. Speak to your agent on this matter so he or she can assist better.

Unfortunately the agent is on the landlords side and said he is cooperative. No specific indication in the contract as I’ve checked so far. Basically can’t do anything to the landlord as he said if I hire an electrician on my own I have to pay myself, if deduct the payment from the rental will be breaching the contract. But it’s taking very long for them to fix this problem, and they are not helpful at all.
Hi,
Being flexible is the key to a good landlord - tenant relationship. If you take it out on the landlord now, he can get back at you when your tenancy ends and come out with all kinds of reasons to not refund your deposit. So, you need to give and take.
Cheers!
