International student waiting on IPA Letter/Student Pass. Can I search for a condo to rent in the meantime?

I'll be attending a private university in Singapore for two years. I am due to arrive on January 31st with my commencement date for my classes being the second week of March.

Due to some miscommunication with my advisers at the school, my IPA Letter will not be issued until at least a week into my arrival to the country. They have written me a Letter of Enrolment in the meantime to verify my enrolment to the university. Is there anyway I am able to sign a contract to rent a condo before receiving my IPA Letter and Student Pass? As I want to avoid having to stay at a hotel for an extended period unnecessarily.

Hi Michelle, there would definitely be some landlords who will be willing to reserve the unit for you first even before you gotten the IPA. Can I know which school are you referring to so that I could better assist you?
