I'm moving out from rented condo. No visible evidence of termite infestation until landlord pulled out heavy cupboard after I move out. Termite damage was behind and under heavy cupboard. What was visible before removal of heavy cover was wear and tear of parquet floor. Area most infested in also next to bathroom. Now landlord claims termite infestation is covered by tenant. There was no agreement on tenant responsibility for pest/termite control. Is this logical?

In cases where there is no specific mentioning of whose responsibility it is to cover on termites control, it will be difficult to ascertain or advise here on how to manage this situation. As what Tobby has mentioned, these phenomenal does not happen overnight therefore as the outgoing tenant, you will definitely be implicated in this case and where disputes arises from who should pay for what, then it will probably be down to both parties coming to an agreement otherwise the only avenue to settle the dispute could be spending more money on professional legal fees to resolve the dispute.
