Hi,

Once the SPR status expires and there is no attempt to renew the SPR status, the authorities will get in touch to require the SPR hdb owner to sell off the flat. Ideally if you already have plans to sell, you can start the sale process before the SPR status expires. There are some procedures for the sale process which will be easier if you still onto the SPR status.

Suggest you to renew your PR so that everything will be status quo. Once you give up your PR, it will be difficult subsequently to get it again.

HDB will instruct you to dispose off your HDB once your SPR status has expired. I have assisted my client who is in a similar situation. He is a SPR from Taiwan and subsequently gave the status up to work in the US.

As per all the rest of the gurus have mentioned, the relevant authorities will contact and advise you when you need to sell off your property in the event if you do not wish to keep your PR status. But what I will suggest is that you can start to market your property already so that you will not have too much of a time pressure. Even though when we want to sell, I also feel that we can aim to sell at a good price. Usually from my experience when sellers have a tight deadline to meet, they often lower their price in order to get the unit off the market.

If you do not mind, maybe we can meet up and we can discuss more about this. No worries there are no obligations at all. Then we can also do a calculation for you to see how much is your sales proceeds and stuff and you can also take this opportunity to see if you are comfortable to work with me for your property. :)

I work very closely with my partner and also my team of agents and we have come out with a system that has assisted many of our clients to sell their house faster and also at a.higher price.
