I'm currently staying in an EC for about 13 years. Recently just bought an uncompleted MM apartment for either future self-stay or investment. Thought of selling my current EC and buy another new pte condo. How long do I need to wait (after selling one of my condos) before I can buy another one so that I need not pay for the SSD for 3rd ppty?

Dear Iris,

You do not have to pay any seller stamp duty if you sell your EC, however, seller stamp duty applied if you sell the apartment that you recently bought.

Regards to the Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD), as the next purchase will be your 3rd properties, you have to pay an additional 3% stamp duty.

You can avoid the ABSD, if you sell your EC and your buyer had lodged the caveat and paid the buyer stamp duty. Therefore, the wait is very minimum.

Hope that I had answered your question.

Feel free to contact me if you need my assistance.

Thanks and Regards
