I'm contemplating of selling my private condo. Before I proceed, I would like to make some general enquiries:
1. Do I need to get a lawyer for this process?
2. Do I need to pay for stamp duty?
3. The house is still under mortage,do I need to inform the bank?
4. How long will it take for the entire process?
5. Any other info that I need to know?

Thank-u,
Nick

Afternoon Nick,

You will need a lawyer to settle your mortars issue and property transfer matters. As for the stamp fee, it would depends on whenyou purchased your current unit. Upon getting a confirm buyer, you must inform your bank about the discharge of loan. The whole process, excluding marketing, will take about 9 to 12 weeks. You will also need to know about the penalties and bank admin charges that you might incurred, if you are selling within 3 years.

Hi Nick,

As my fellow agents have explained, the most important thing to take note of is your subsequent plans. Are you currently staying in this unit and after selling, do you need to buy another place of accomodation? The timing is critical since you may not have a shelter over your head should the sell-buy process go haywire.

Do let me know how I may assist you further should there be any needs.
