I'm being told by employees in my organization that rental in Singapore for expats require them to pay 1 year of rent in advance in order for them to get a landlord to agree to a tenancy agreement. Also, they are telling me that there is no provisions for a diplomatic/expatriate clause in Singapore leases. I wanted to find out if these were customary for rental in Singapore, even if the lease is for 24 or 36 months in length. I appreciate your time and information. Thank you.
