Afternoon Morgan,

You can opt to purchase the resale unit with your family under family scheme. However, you will need to observe and complete the MOP requirement before you are eligible for application of BTO with your future spouse. Should you be contributing to the mortgage of the current unit via CPF, do also note that when you opt to sell your share to your parents in the future, they should be eligible for sufficient loan.

Hi Morgan,

Not quite sure what you are trying to achieve, but if you purchase a resale flat with them now, they will have to sell the current hdb away. You may like to wait until you are 35 so you can purchase a resale hdb on a sole name basis. Thanks and hope to understand your plans further before making better recommendations.

By the way since you are turning 35 years old soon, why not you opt to purchase under single singapore citizen scheme then add your spouse's name in future?

Your parent is able to form the family nucleus on their own. Therefore, it is fine that you can form a family nucleus with your wife to purchase a BTO. Currently, if you are a occupier of the current flat, you will just have to remove yourself as an occupier.
