This greatly dependent on your contract.
There are contract which specify a minimum period where you are allowed to terminate without giving any compensation as long as you fulfill minimum period of stay.
But there are contract that did not specify such clause, this type of contract will not have the flexibility of early termination. The assumption made is you have to pay the remaining rent in order to terminate early.
The best option is to discuss this with your landlord to see whether can grant you an early termination without incurring damage, other than one month notice.
