Hi Ivan,

Pls note if you are buying a HDB resale flat and take a grant like:
FINANCIAL SCHEME FOR BUYERS
CPF HOUSING GRANT SCHEME FOR FAMILY

Ownership Of Private Property
 Must not own private property or sold any private property within the last 30 months.

Other Conditions
Applicants who are successful in getting the CPF Housing Grant are considered as having enjoyed
a first flat bought directly from HDB. They are to:
 Fulfill a minimum occupation period of 5 years.
 Wait 5 years before submitting an application to HDB for a second direct purchase flat.
 Not invest in any private property during the 5 years occupation period.
 Pay a resale levy upon selling the flat if purchasing another direct purchase flat.

Hello Ivan,

the key point to note is that as long as you have used any CPF housing grant to purchase your resale HDB flat, you will have to fulfill the 5 years Minimum Occupation Period ( MOP ) before embarking on your purchase of private property.

But if you did not take any grant at all when buying your resale flat, then you can purchase private property anytime.
