I was given special permission by HDB to sell my flat before the MOP. In the approval letter, it only stated that there is a 5 year time bar before I can buy a subsidized flat. In this case, can I buy private property after selling off the hdb flat?

Dear sir/madam,

As this is a special approval given by HDB for you to sell before MOP, any further rules and regulations to be observed should be clarified with HDB. We are unsure of the background on the sale approval therefore it will be unwise for us to comment. Base purely on your input alone, you did not mention that HDB has bar you from purchasing any private properties, therefore taking word for word, there is no problem in doing so.

Afternoon,

The time bar is for you to purchase subsidized HDB unit and nothing else. Hence you are eligible to purchase resale EC, private new launch or resale.

Hi Curious,

I would think you should be able to buy a private property after selling off your HDB flat.

In fact, i recently concluded a deal, the seller also got waiver to sell before 5 year MOP. I sold his flat and helped him bought a resale condo after that.
