I was bidding for a terrace last month. After a few rounds, my last offer was very close to the asking price and the agent collected the 1% cheque from me. He told me that i should be able to get the unit. That very night he called me and told me another buyer has given a much higher offer and that the seller has accepted the offer. When ask, he refused to tell me the actual amount. I let the matter off since he told me the seller has accepted the other buyer's cheque. Today, I checked the ura on the ceaveat lodge just to realise that the final offer was only $1000 more than my offer. I could have easily upped my offer if he told me the actual offer.I seriously think that the agent has not acted in the best favour of the seller. What are the option i have?

Hi Mr/Mrs.
It may seem that the agent has not acted to your best benefit. But, I believe everything that happens, it happen for a reason. It could mean you will get a better house.

Cheers!

Dear sir/madam,

It could be possible that your agent is not aware of what the other offer was as the property could be marketed by multiple agents. No competing agents will reveal the offer prices of their clients to protect the interest of their clients. My team also has this practise. We have healthy competition among us to secure offers for the same unit and will never reveal the details of offer to one another. You maybe pissed off that your offer was only $1000 lower than the closing offer, but in the first place if you had put in your best offer you would have secure the unit.

My advise for you is to move on to find another property. My team is primarily dealing with landed properties islandwide and I strongly believe that we have inventory in our books that suits your needs.

Give me a chance to assist you secure your unit.
