I was asked to surrender 4-Rm flat to HDB because I lived overseas for too long. My 5-year MOP is not fulfilled yet as I only stayed there for 9 months after purchase. 1. any advice to get around with it will be appreciated. 2. how is the surrender price being determined? any way i can negotiate sale in open market? Thank you Judy

Afternoon Judy, Your stay overseas is due to work or personal choice? Are you SC or SPR? How long have you being stationed oversea? Surrender value is based on HDB valuation pricing. Depending on your situation, you can choose to write into HDB to appeal your case. Regards Mike Lim 96929209  m52i@yahoo.com ERA Read More

Hi Mike, My stay overseas is for work. The estate manager just would not accept the reason even with an employement letter. I have been working overseas since Feb 2007. Do you have a rough idea what is the approx surrender value for a 4A in sengkang, 5 mins walk from SK shopping centre? how do the HDB do the valuation, do they do a on-site visit or based on their estimation? will it be a huge gap between their valuation and the market price? Thank you Judy
