Asked by Serious Buyer
I rented a condo unit for 2 years and recently handed over the unit back to the landlord. Now the landlord says that he needs to repair 3 items each costing 400 dollars and wants me to pay 1200 dollars.
As per the contract, as a tenant I need to pay for the first 100 dollars for each item and the rest should be paid by the landlord. So my understanding is that I need to pay a total of 300 dollars only ($100x3 items).
The reality is that the landlord has still got ny deposit and he can deduct any amount he wants.
I'm happy to pay 300 as per the contract. What options do I have to ensure that the landlord deducts the right amount and I get my deposit back?
Advice appreciated.
