I own a hdb with my sister since year 2008. Both of us are Malaysian SPR. I'm getting married soon and my sis intend to transfer her name to my fiancee. Can it be done? Then, I'm holding a private property in Malaysia, am I required to dispose it or I can maintain it after my sis had transfer her name to my fiancee? Can i continue to invest the property in Malaysia immediately once.the name transfer is completed?

Morning,

For the transfer of ownership, you need to engage a lawyer to prepare the transfer documents. You are also required to get new mortgage loan to cover the component that has being paid by your sister and the amount of loan that she's holding, based on the holding manner. As for your private property, it's likely that you are required to remove your ownership status from your priavte property in Malaysia. This is due to the fact that the unit will be owned under open scheme after the transfer. However, you can check it out with HDB for confirmation.
