I just rented a new condo. Upon moving in, I realise the major appliances mal-function- though they are new. They could be appliances that tends to break down easily. I'm afraid the land lord expect me to return the whole place in pristine condition while it wasn't that way when it was handed to me. What can I do?

Morning,

It would be good to refer back to your TA and agent to assist you accordingly. I would believe you and your agent have checked the place before you took over. As per most TA, repair cost are subjected to certain caps. Hope this info might be useful to you.

Dear tenant,

Do you have a 30 days warranty period for these appliances stated when you put in the offer to rent this place? As Mike has indicated, you should check back with the salesperson whom you have secured this unit to attend to these matters. Look into the tenancy agreement as well to check out what is the amount stated for the minor repair clauses if applicable.
