Afternoon,

Under public scheme, you will be eligible for $20k if your combined income does not exceed $12k. If you were to buy a resale unit near to either parents, you will be eligible for additional $20k proximity housing grant. As for how much cash is required, that would depend on how much loan both of you can get and the purchase of the unit.

You are eligible for $20k family grant as a first timer provided your combined income doesnt not exceed $12k.

You can enjoy a $10k citizen top up if your spouse or child obtains citizenship.

If your combined income is less than $5k, you can obtain up to $40k grant.

Since you have mentioned you will take up HDB loan, probably you can share with me your HLE amount and cash on hand so I can draft a financial plan in which you will have a better idea what's your affordability.

Hi,

If you earn 12k and below, its 20k family grant as a first timer, and a top up of 10k when your child subsequently gets citizenship. If its 5k & below, a further 40k grant progressively tiered depending on your income range.

How much cash to prepare depends on the loan attainable. Perhaps you might want to a HLE for hdb loan first before embarking on the house hunting. Thanks and hope to value-add to your housing plans further.
