I have taken a lease for 1 year. I want to speak with the owner of the property where I am staying something directly about. I am paying them rent every month. But the agent is saying she cannot share owners contact details nor their address or any details . Is this really right for me to not being even able to get that information of the owner to speak to them about something urgent

Hi, yes most landlord agent will not reveal as the landlord agent is already the mouth piece and so if you have any minor or major matters, the landlord agent will be the 1st contact. And also, most landlord will not want to let their tenant have their mobile as well.

Have you looked at the tenancy agreement to find out the correspondence address of the landlord? You may write to the landlord through this correspondence address.

I do not dare to say I do alot of rentals in comparison to others, but along the course of work, I do have encounters with landlords preferring not to come into direct contact with the tenants and leave all communication works to the agent or a 3rd party managing agent.

Tenants can visit http://bit.ly/SGExpatRental (Official Rental Requirements - Singapore Expatriates) to indicate your rental requirements. Read More
