I have signed an agreement with a ‘refund of commission’ clause that states if I lawfully terminate the lease before expiry I must refund 2 months rent value paid by landlord to his agent as commission; on a 2-year lease. I now realize that this should be equal to 1 months rent as per industry standard. As my agent has failed to point this out am I eligible to make a complaint about his negligence in providing proper advice to sign a fair contract while discharging services to me?
