I have sign the Letter of Intent and gave a check equal to 1 month rent as booking deposit and the landlord already sign for the LOI. But after that, we do not wish to rent the unit for personal and family reasons. I have advised my bank for stop payment of my issued check since it wasn’t en-cashed by the Landlord. Is there any legal issue that cause me to a trouble? I was advised by my Agent to return the Cash to him as the landlord asking for it and also he told me that Landlord will file a complaint against me. The Landlord and Police will come to my work just to get the money. Do I need to give back the money to my Agent? Is there any legal issues that will affect in my side?
