I have rented out my 5 room unit 2.5yrs ago for $2150 in Punggol. I renewed the contract for $2100 1 yr ago to the same tenant. And now the same tenant is willing to renew for another 18 months, and the price is set to $2050.
There are 2 agents all these times; one from me and one from the tenant. However, this time, the tenant said openly in front of us that if the price is only reduced by $50, he said, he wants to directly go with my agent. He said, its not reasonable to pay $1400 for his agent as commission (incl of gov tax and 7%) as the price reduction is only $900 over the 18 months for him. I can kind of relate to his point; but said I shall think about it.
In my case, I have no issues as its the tenant problem, and my agent also has no issues as the tenant has been very good all these years and no issues. Tenant agent is saying NO and says he will complain to the agency that its unethical and also file a police complaint of cheating. Is it even valid?
