I have placed an option fee of $1K to the seller agent. However, the seller agent didnt make know to me that it is a contra deal. After i signed the OTP, I was told by my agent that the transaction can be completed the earliest, in 6.5months.
I requested to refund this OTP fee as the seller agent didnt make known to me that it is a contra deal. But he rejected my request. I feel cheated by this agent. Any idea on what i can do to get back my OTP fee? Is it advisable to proceed with this transaction?

Afternoon Kimmy,

It's your salesperson's responsibility to check and ensure that all requirements are met before getting you to ink any documents . Your salesperson is the one who is suppose protect your interest though the seller's salesperson is also supposed to highlight this requirement to either of you.

Check it out with your salesperson before acting. He should be able to advise you accordingly. If you really need a place earlier than 6.5 months, depending on situation, bring the case up to CASE, or let it rest and move on.
