I have a situation which i'm not sure to be worried or not. I have recently rented a place (through an agent) from a landlord who claims that she is the owner of the place. However, I just found out that she's a property salesperson from one of her ads, with her cea code, and she is advertising the place i'm renting (probably an old ad). Should i be worried that this might be a scam? She has collected security deposit and also good faith deposit from me. Are agents allowed to say they own the place? I'm not sure how to check if she owns it or just an agent advertising the place.

Hi,
The property may be own by the agent. But in the first place, if you engage an agent to assist you on the rental, we will assist to verify the ownership before paying the security deposit.

I can be contactable at my mobile or email.
