I have a 3NG HDB property purchased in August 2015. I am a PR. I have only 1Y plus remaining of my MOP. And due to personal and unforeseen circumstances outside my control like difficulties in paying my kids(Long Term Pass Holder) next year school fee, if i want to give up my PR and sell my HDB with in MOP.

Hi Mr Ben,

You will need to write in to HDB to appeal for the wavier of your MOP requirement. Approval is given on a case by case basis depending on your circumstances.

Given your existing financial situation and your decision to give up your PR status, HDB may consider to waive the MOP requirement.

You need to appeal to HDB about your case to sell within MOP period, approval is on a case by case basis. However, if you are looking to give up PR status and also given the financial situation, there could be a possibility HDB may approve the sale. Good morning Ben,

As your flat is still within MOP, you will have to approach your HDB branch office for an appeal in order to sell it in the resale market.

It will be based on a case by case basis.

But with your financial difficulties and thoughts of giving up SPR status, you might stand a higher chance.

If not, HDB will be the one who will purchase back your unit as your unit is barely one year into MOP.
