I believe a government subsidized statutory owned property and a private property have no comparison.
HDB have a lesser appreciating factor in recent times, while private properties have a far larger scope of capital upswing due to their very attractive of being owned by single private developers. Furthermore, with the announcement of the fast rail, it will be definitely on the money for investors to build their portfolio to reap the commercial benefits it will bring along in the long run.
