Dear sir/madam,

I am afraid that you will be ineligible to apply for BTO as an existing private property owner as they have a window period to sit out after disposing the private property. You will only be eligible for resale flats if you plan to exit your current private property and immediately purchase a HDB.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

So sorry to inform you that you will not be able to apply for the BTO flat. Reason is because in order to apply for BTO, you need to have a wait up period of 30 months or 2.5 years after selling off your private property before you can apply. With this wait-up period, chances are it is probably better to go straight for a resale HDB.

If you are ok, we can meetup for a coffee and I can help you to do some financial calculations for you and you can have a good idea whether which path is good. We can also discuss about your the reason why you wish to sell off your condo to buy that BTO and from there, I may be able to explore more options and recommend it to you.

Under the current HDB ruling, you will need to dispose off your private property for 30 months before you are eligible to apply for a BTO flat cos they are considered subsidized housing.
