I am renting a condo(2 years contract). Upon turn over, we were assured that the aircons in the unit were serviced regularly. But it seems like they were not because when we have the ac units checked, they where in bad condition. the landlord claimed that the ac were fine and refuse to fix them, and we are still in the 1 month period "warranty" as specified in TA. where can I report errant landlord of not honoring the 1 month period to fix all defects of the rented unit? thank you

Hi Sir,

Do you have an agent who represented you in your lease? If yes, you can seek help from the agent. If not, you will have to contact the landlord's agent and tell him about the situation.

Before taking over the unit, the Landlord is supposed to do a one time servicing of the air-con, you should have requested for the proof of servicing before taking over the unit.

Should you need any advice or assistance, feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Arch,

I presume you leased the property through an agent.

Your agent should be able to help you.

Since the LL claims that the aircon has been serviced regularly, ask for proof of services.

Do note that you are also required to keep these proof of your own, as your need to produce them at the end of the lease.
